Hey all, going to sticky this message to help out with personal OPSEC. Any comments or suggestions are always welcome.
Always-on VPN client such as Private Internet Access or ProtonVPN. You can set PIA up with a killswitch so that it won’t even touch the internet unless it’s running. These cost a few dollars a month but are far better than free alternatives. PIA subscription will allow you to run the software on several devices including your smartphone.
KeePassXC for password management - allows you to create a 40-character randomly generated password and then just copy and paste it into applications. Not really practical for mobile use but great for things you primarily access on a desktop.
Web browsers: Brave, Firefox, Duckduckgo. These are available on mobile as well and can be configured to be the default when you open a link.
Search engines: Duckduckgo, Bing, Startpage. Set it as your homepage and you won't even notice the difference after a few searches.
SMS: Signal or Wikr preferred. WhatsApp is encrytped, but owned by Facebook so use at your own risk.
Email: Protonmail
Malwarebytes and Windows Defender will provide all the antimalware/antivirus you need.
For additional privacy you can run your searches through a virtual machine. Virtual Box is pretty easy to set up, if there's interest I'll drop a tutorial on it later but it's probably overkill for what most users will need.
With most places requiring masks, now is a fantastic time to purchase a burner phone (or any device you don't want attributed to you) with cash and keep it as part of your PACE plan. Keep an eye on the expiration date on any SIM cards or minutes though, like any other part of your preps.
privacytools.io is a great resource as well if you're looking for more info on various topics.

As we allow posts from our supporters, we run into the rare and few comments that do not properly represent AmCon. Below are rules for moderation, as we review posts and accept/decline the ability to show the post.
-No hate speech: racism, homophobia, etc. AmCon does not support hate speech of any kind, as we are a fair community. Many have asked us to further define this- simply do not be hateful or disgusting. We support each other during these hard times and we will not let the few lone people who violate these guidelines divide us. Our concerns lie with being able to promote the values AmCon bring to the table. >>>Posting hate speech will limit the outreach of AmCon due to being bottlenecked on different platforms. Refraining from using "hate speech" will allow us to spread our message to the largest audience
-No violent comment: any posts containing violent speech, threats, etc will be promptly ...
